GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Provides administrative and management assistance to the Mental Health Court Coordinator in the management of the Mental Health Court for the Fourth Judicial District Court, Ada County.&#160;Performs related duties as assigned
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:&#160;
* 
Receives, receipts, and monitors payment of fees by Mental Health Court participants;
* 
Maintains administrative, participant, and graduate files;
* 
Tracks participants' court ordered rewards and sanctions;
* 
Screens incoming telephone calls, answers callers' questions, takes messages and/or redirects calls;
* 
Enters data into the computer systems,
* 
Maintains record of call-ins, hospitalizations, and jail days;
* 
Drafts routine correspondence;
* 
Explores and develops community resources;
* 
Assists in identifying local resources to meet collateral needs of participants and coordinating participants use of those resources;
* 
Processes vendor invoices;
* 
Orders supplies for the Mental Health Court office;
* 
Develops and distributes flyers announcing Mental Health Court-related events, such as graduation and recreational events; and
* 
Appears at Mental Health Court proceedings as needed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:&#160;
* Provides back-up support for functions of the Mental Health Court Coordinator in the Coordinator's absence;
* 
Interfaces appropriately with diverse range of participants; and
* 
Interfaces with multiple team members in both the District Court and multiple outside agencies.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:&#160;
* 
High school diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred;
* 
Knowledge of Idaho criminal justice system;
* 
Knowledge and skill in effectively using Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel and ability to learn additional database-related software;
* 
Knowledge of mental illness and addiction dynamics;
* 
Skill in operation of various office machines such as copiers, fax machines, and scanners;
* 
Skill in expressing compassion for program participants while upholding participants' accountability to program rules;
* 
Flexibility in dealing with unpredictable occurrences within the context of diverse participants' needs;
* 
Ability to appropriately use proper telephone and office etiquette;
* 
Ability to develop, prepare, and maintain accurate records and files;
* 
Ability to compose letters, memos, etc. from verbal or written instructions;
* 
Ability to perform duties with tact and confidentiality;
* 
Ability to work independently;
* 
Ability to prioritize and multi-task;
* 
Ability to work with confidential material or information and maintain confidentiality; and
* 
Ability to properly interpret and make decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and established policies and procedures.

Willingness to attend meetings or respond to needs out of office;

Transportation to support attending meetings or meeting needs out of office, such as delivering drug tests and attending meetings at other agencies.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:&#160;
Performs investigations and collects evidence relating to 'sudden deaths' which refers to a death in which a physician has not been in attendance of the deceased or a death under questionable circumstance; determines identity of the deceased; identifies next of kin and notifies them of the death; assists families in resolving concerns relating to the death; and performs related duties as required.&#160;
&#160;
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* 
Responds to calls relating to 'sudden deaths';
* 
Confers with police, doctors, hospital staff, families of the deceased, insurance investigators, lawyers, and media reporters;
* 
Examines the place of death for evidence of the cause of death and the identity of deceased;
* 
Assists with&#160;autopsies;
* 
Conducts scene investigations in cases involving possible homicide or suicide;
* 
Collects samples of body fluids from the deceased person;
* 
Identifies next of kin and notifies them of the death;
* 
Provides assistance and comfort to family members who have strong emotional reactions to notification of death;
* 
Takes responsibility for the personal belonging of individuals who have no known relative;
* 
Attends autopsies to supply pathologists with facts relating to the death scene;
* 
Attends inquests and court hearing providing relevant information and testimony;
* 
Keeps supervisor informed of the status of cases; and
* 
Prepares written reports on cases listing pertinent case facts in manner and cause of death&#160;&#160;and body examination.
&#160;
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
* 
Gives necessary assistance to &#8220;reaction&#8221; cases and provides protection to the residual estate;

May take photographs of the death scene; and
* 
Performs related duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:&#160;
* 
Bachelor&#8217;s degree in a related field such as Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Nursing or Medical Technologist or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
* 
Previous experience in death investigation preferred;
* 
Knowledge of probable causes of death under a wide variety of circumstances;
* 
Knowledge of the rules of evidence;
* 
Knowledge of techniques of conducting an investigation and search procedures;
* 
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology;
* 
Knowledge of medical terminology;
* 
Skill in providing comfort and assistance to people grieving the loss of family or friends;
* 
Skill in communicating in a clear and concise way in stressful situations;
* 
Skill in written communication;

Ability to witness death scenes and observe and note details;

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs substance abuse treatment and rehabilitative services for Drug Court participants. Performs related duties as required. The position is located at the Ada County Fourth District Court, Drug Court Counseling center.
&#160;
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conducts evaluations, screenings, and assists with the selection of potential Drug Court clients;
* Develops appropriate treatment plans and maintains on-going records of treatment;
* Conducts group education and therapy sessions as well as individual counseling sessions;
* Finds and screens possible guest facilitators and acts as a liaison for the program and community resources;
* Develops and updates appropriate educational and counseling materials for program participants;
* Participates in evaluating the effectiveness of the program;
* Attends weekly Drug Court staffing and court sessions as directed;
* Prepares weekly progress reports for Drug Court Judge and Drug Court team to include attendance, behavior, progress, drug testing results, and recommendations;
* Observes defendants urine drug tests and completes necessary documentation;
* Provides case management services and makes referrals to community-based services as needed.
&#160;
ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
* Responds to requests for information in reference to substance abuse, the Drug Court program, and possible referral services;
* Reports compliance or noncompliance of Drug Court participants to the Drug Court Coordinator;
* Writes reports about the substance abuse program and the data and statistics developed in the program;
* Collects follow-up information on each program graduate for the purposes of obtaining statistical information;
* Inputs and organizes said statistical information on a database;
* Performs related duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor level education in a related field (i.e. Psychology, Social Sciences, Criminal Justice, Sociology) with credentials in chemical dependency (CADC) preferred;
* Knowledge of the treatment of chemical dependency;
* Knowledge of modem treatment services and programs;
* Knowledge of individual and group behavior;
* Knowledge of literature on current substance abuse treatment studies;
* Ability to provide appropriate and consistent treatment while maintaining security and appropriate client behavior;
* Ability to conduct evaluations with verified evaluation tools;
* Ability to conduct and develop interesting and informative lecture groups;
* Ability to maintain control of manipulative populations;
* Ability to facilitate therapy groups and individual counseling sessions;
* Ability to set boundaries with defendants who push the limits;
* Ability to remove defendants from treatment for breaking the rules;
* Ability to be a team player with the Drug Court team;
* Ability to plan, organize and accomplish work assignments;
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
* This position will require employees to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings and weekends;
* Must attend regular staff meetings and work in conjunction with staff of the Ada County Drug Court Program;
