Scope: An Academic Counselor&rsquo;s primary responsibilities include the development of and the providing of academic counseling and coordinating programs like Support our Students (SOS), academic probation, undeclared advising, teaching a section of U100 in the Fall, and assisting with outreach activities.
Report to the Director of the Academic Development Center.

I.  Basic Responsibilities:
A. Academic Counseling Program
* Manage academic counseling caseload
* Keep current with professional academic counseling literature
* Program development
 
B.  Support our Student (SOS) Program
* Coordinate SOS referrals
* Manage SOS referral caseload
* Program development
C.  Academic Probation Program
* Coordinate Program
* Manage Academic Probation caseload
* Program development
D.  Advising
* Manage undeclared advisee caseload
* Advise undeclared students
E.  Teaching
* Teach U100 in the Fall
             
F.  Outreach Activities
* Speaking to classrooms, groups, etc.
* Marketing
G.  Summer Passport Assistance
* Assist University Testing Office and First-Year Office as needed during summer months on specific Passport dates.
II.   Essential Duties can include the following but are not limited to these duties:

A.  Academic Counseling Program (ACP)
* Manage academic counseling case load
* Counsel students with academic problems
* Caseload may consist of both individual clients and groups
* Developing the ACP program
* Consistently finding ways to improve the program
* Utilize conferences and literature
* Keep current on professional academic counseling literature
* Participate in bi-weekly staff supervision/consultation
* Read latest in academic theory, application, and literature
* Attend academic and/or student retention related conferences/workshops
B.  Support our Student (SOS)
* Coordinate SOS referrals
* Proactive efforts via phone calling, e-mailing, developing relationships with faculty, staff, academic departments, and other campus offices to generate referrals
* Facilitate SOS referrals
* Receiving and evaluating referrals
* Contacting and meeting with referred students
* Identify at risk students and refer them appropriately
* Referring student to the appropriate resources and ensuring that the student is taken care of.
* Provide feedback.
* Serve on and refer to the Student of Concern Committee
* Developing the SOS program
* Consistently finding ways to improve the program
* Utilize conferences and literature
C.  Advising undeclared students
* Coordinate the advising of undeclared students
* Manage undeclared caseload
* Meet with undeclared student at the appropriate times
* Advise and build schedules for undeclared students
* Advise students on career counseling opportunities
* Advise students on the Change of Program procedure.
D.  Teaching
* Teach U100 section in the Fall
E.  Outreach Activities
* Speaking to classrooms, groups, etc.
* Speak at Passport to students or parents
* Conduct training with faculty, staff, advisors
* Develop and conduct workshops and seminars
* Network with residence halls, academic departments and campus offices and provide info. as needed
F.  Summer Passport Assistance
* Assist University Testing Office and First-Year Office as needed during summer months on specific Passport dates    
* Build schedules for undeclared students
* Provide testing assistance during Passports
* Work at Resource Fair

Scope: Responsible for tracking and managing various stages of prospect relationships through the activities of Senior Development Officers.
I. Basic Responsibilities
* Work with Senior Development Officers and others to maintain and update plans for each prospect and to facilitate the efforts of those officers in developing new prospect relationships

* Provide fundraising and communication support

* Visiting one-on-one with gift solicitors on a regular basis for tracking prospect development and following up on action items
B.   Manage the flow and reporting of prospect data
* Ensure contact and visit information from each Senior Development officer is entered in Banner in an accurate, timely way=
* Provide reports to Senior Development Officers and administrators on an ongoing basis
* Manage and appropriately disseminate information on prospective donors
C.   Provide fundraising and communication support to Senior Development Officers
* Conduct regular individual meetings with all Development officers

Scope: Plan and lead overall fundraising strategy to build broad-based constituent goodwill and maximize gifts to ACU's Annual Fund. The Annual Fund provides unrestricted current support for ACU students, programs, and faculty, helping bridge the gap between tuition revenues and the actual cost of providing an ACU education. Annual Fund donors include alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends who are solicited for a gift every year through a variety of methods, including personal solicitation, direct mail, phoneathon, and email/web.

* Hire, train, and manage Annual Giving fundraising and support staff.
* Manage and solicit a small portfolio of assigned prospects.

* As needed, write fundraising copy and assist in vendor negotiations.
B.   Hire, train, and manage Annual Giving fundraising and support staff.
* Set goals with each Annual Giving Officer (AGO) related to face-to-face visits, solicitations, and dollars raised. Coach, motivate and evaluate the progress of each Annual Giving Officer.
* Set goals with the Annual Giving Project Manager related to critical deadlines, desired revenues from mass solicitations, and budgetary constraints. Coach, motivate and evaluate the progress of the Annual Giving Project Manager.
* Provide data and reports to assist in their efforts.
* Work with Development Division departments and other key university outreach units to ensure the Annual Giving personnel are adequately trained and mentored.
* Work with AGOs, senior development officers, research, and director of development to appropriately assign prospects for discovery or for hand-offs to other personnel.
C.   Manage and solicit a small portfolio of assigned prospects.
* Solicit each prospect a minimum of one time per year for a leadership gift ($1,000+) to the Annual Fund.
* Provide additional contacts with prospects throughout the year to express gratitude and keep them informed on campus happenings.
* Visit prospects personally as appropriate and feasible based on location.
D.  Represent Annual Giving in contacts with faculty, staff, trustees, donors, and prospective donors.
* Assist director of development as needed with Annual Fund solicitations for members of the Board of Trustees.
* Participate in development events such as President's Circle Dinner, trustee breakfasts, campaign gatherings, ground breaking and dedicatory ceremonies, and other campus events.
* Provide Annual Giving reporting for the Board of Trustees and campus leadership.
* As schedule allows, participate in non-development events that provide opportunities to build relationships with constituents.

Scope: This position works in the Adams Center for Teaching and Learning to diffuse educational technologies and products that enhance teaching and learning at Abilene Christian University. Work involves establishing goals and objectives, devising solutions to academic, administrative and technical problems, managing projects, facilitating communication and developing and evaluating departmental procedures. The person in this position will report to the Educational Technology Project Manager and works directly with others in a dynamic team structure. Skills needed are both technical and administrative in nature.
I. Basic Responsibilities: These are the five major functions of the job.
* Assist and manage small to medium-sized classroom technology projects.
* Implement educational projects such as online course evaluations, e-portfolios, Podcasting, iPhone or iPod touch software and wed-based software tools used in teaching and learning.

* Work closely with Student Financial Aid counselors in managing the collection efforts, particularly the more difficult accounts where options are limited.
* Review payment plans and procedures for all students on an annual basis and make changes as needed.
* Communicate with parent/students on various methods and options for paying off the balance on their account.
D. Oversee departmental activities including budgets, personnel, facilities, equipment modifications, form revisions, etc.
* Set deadlines and timelines on certain activities and prioritize the critical jobs in the data entry, awarding and processing (loans) areas.
* Delegate other departmental activities to key employees and ensure follow-up.
E. Promote affordability and value.
* Attend special events such as Preview Days, special seminars, Passport, Premier Weekends, etc. to present information to parents and students regarding the financial aid available and the process involved.

Scope: Responsible to the Chief of Police/Director of Public Safety of the ACU Police Dept - is responsible for carrying out the mission of the ACU Police Department, working with Campus Life and supporting other departments and divisions within ACU in the overall university mission of promoting student education for Christian service and leadership throughout the world while protecting lives and property and enforcing all State laws and university regulations on the campus and properties of Abilene Christian University.
I. Basic Responsibilities:
A. Protection of life and property on the campus and other properties of Abilene Christian University providing for the overall safety of persons and the protection of University and personal property.
B. Enforcement of all local, State and federal laws on the ACU campus and other ACU properties as well the enforcement of all applicable university rules and regulations concerning parking and other university regulations on the ACU campus.
C. Provide patrol, respond to calls for service and maintain enforcement of local, State and federal laws off-campus within the extended jurisdictional area provided between Abilene Police Department and ACU Police Department.
D. Conduct initial on-scene investigations and filing of appropriate offense reports both on-campus and within the extended jurisdictional area as agreed upon by Abilene Police Department and ACU Police Department.
E. Providing other safety and security services to ACU faculty, staff and visitors as needed.

* Patrol of all ACU campus and properties. Patrol may include foot patrol, vehicle patrol and bicycle patrol.

* Investigate all suspicious activity reported or observed on ACU campus, properties or within the extended jurisdictional area shared between Abilene Police Department and ACU Police Department.
* Patrol and monitoring of all campus buildings, locking/unlocking as needed.
* Work closely with Campus Life and Residence Life Education and Housing personnel regarding security and personal safety needs for all members of the ACU community residing on ACU campus in ACU housing.
* Maintain relationships with APD officers assigned to ACU area, communicating information as needed between APD and ACU-PD.
B.Enforcement of all laws and university policies/regulations on ACU campus and properties.
* Maintain a working knowledge of all applicable local, State and federal traffic and penal laws, fairly applying and enforcing them within the ACU jurisdiction.
* Monitor all ACU parking lots for violations of university parking regulations and issue applicable citations to violators and vehicles.
C. Conduct initial on-scene investigations and filing of proper reports.     
* Respond to all calls for service within university jurisdiction, extended jurisdiction, or as requested by outside law enforcement agencies.
* Assess situations, determining offense if any, conducting initial interview with victims, suspects and witnesses as applicable.
* Notify other emergency response personnel as needed. Assist other law enforcement agency personnel and other emergency response personnel as required or requested when incident occurs outside of or adjacent to university police jurisdiction.
* Complete and file proper reports and forms as required by departmental policy and/or law.
D. Providing other safety and security services to ACU faculty, staff and visitors as needed.
* Provide safety/security escorts of individuals on campus when requested.
* Assist members of ACU community with vehicle unlocks and jumpstarts on or near ACU campus when requested.
* Assist with unscheduled unlocks of buildings /offices as requested by ACU faculty or staff.
* Maintain a service-oriented attitude at all times.
