Overview:
The major objective of the Acres Business Development position is to establish relationships and create bid opportunities in order to sell new contracted maintenance and snow removal work. Practical applications will include locating, meeting, and building relationships with new customers, closing sales, and working to provide a positive customer "hand-off" to an Acres sales team member.

Responsibilities:

* Meet or exceed established sales goals by cold calling, networking, building strong business relationships, bidding new accounts on a twelve month basis and effectively negotiating as needed.
* o Become actively involved in trade organizations for networking purposes to enhance sales potential.
* o Gather and analyze potential customer needs and interests providing creative solutions to challenges and communicating our production capabilities and service commitment.
* o Schedule and deliver a minimum 12 customer appointments per week.
* Solicit and secure landscape maintenance and snow removal bid opportunities from a prospective customer base not currently under contract with Acres or Hayden.
* o Customer Target: Large group bids from property management and/or development companies."We will not pass an "A" property to get to one of ours"
* Submit landscape maintenance and snow removal bids in conjunction with all Hayden Construction installation projects.
* o Bids will be included in the construction job packet and/or stored in CRM until they may be submitted.
* Customize marketing materials and proposals by customer/bid opportunity. Measurements, pricing calculations and Axapta data entry are to be primarily provided by Customer Service Specialist and/or support staff with production manager input. Business development may be required to assist in measuring, pricing, and data entry if necessity or common sense determines the need.
* Bids must be submitted within established cost parameters. Exceptions must have the express written approval of your supervisor.
* Hand-deliver and formally present bids whenever possible. Follow-up on bids assuring there are no outstanding questions or information needs to facilitate decision-making and close the sale.
* Upon closing a contract, Business Development will personally introduce the new customer to the appropriate Acres Customer Service Specialist or Account Representative. This introduction should also include the appropriate Production Manager whenever possible. Assure that Account Representatives and Maintenance Managers have all the necessary information from you regarding all sales in order to effectively produce the work, satisfy the customer and meet profitability goals.
* Perform client satisfaction check-ups at regular time intervals. Resolve any problems that may be discovered in conjunction with the applicable Account Representative (AR) and Senior Account Representative (SAR).
* Respond with tact to unsolicited customer complaints in conjunction with AR and SAR and promptly resolve them assuring customer satisfaction.
* Track sales leads and relationships, A class properties on the way to Acres accounts, and sales activity in Axapta's CRM.
* Provide Business Development Estimator monthly site targets to measure to assure efficiency.
* Establish a good working relationship with your manager and team, and keep your manager informed of progress and problems on the job.
* Proactively anticipate problems, and suggest solutions. Identify problem patterns, make suggestions and assist in implementing solutions in conjunction with your supervisor and team.
* Attend all applicable meetings which may include board meetings for sales presentations and reconciliation of complaints, association and trade organization meetings for networking purposes, etc.
* Actively participate in decision making in the department and work to continually improve its operation.
* Assist in projecting annual sales goals and budget figures. Contribute to in-house meetings and brainstorming sessions.
* Assist in the development and utilization of new sales tools.
* Assist your manager, and follow through on assignments set by him.
* Follow through with accurate paperwork and documentation as required.
* Be available in extreme situations to take on front line snow responsibilities.
* Work with the facility Service Manager for maintenance and upkeep of your assigned vehicle.

Qualifications:

REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &amp; ABILITIES:
* Local market knowledge and contacts required.
* Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal/relationship development skills, including strong presentation, research and analytical skills; strong negotiation experience, problem-solving skills, and deal-closing instincts, and ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes. Able to absorb rejection without losing sales momentum.
* Organized and able to effectively manage time and resources and prioritize to provide desired results.
* Computer proficiency including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and contact/lead management software.
* Self-starting high energy professional with the ability to effectively coordinate and complete numerous activities simultaneously with excellent follow-up skills.
* The ability to identify problems and work in conjunction with others to implement effective solutions.
* The capacity to drive to all work sites and conduct tours and visual inspections of the landscape which may include areas with varying turf heights and textures, all sizes and shapes of shrubbery, bushes, flower beds, etc....

PREREQUISITES:
* Minimum 4 years previous sales experience in business to business commercial contract sales, preferably in the landscaping industry.
* Successful sales skills including strong prospecting, business development and closing abilities and experience.

Overview:
The main objectives of the Maintenance Customer Service Specialist Intern position are to provide customer service and quality control support to the maintenance sales department within the scope of a learning/on-the-job internship experience. The Maintenance Customer Service Specialist Intern program focuses on hands-on account representative experience and includes some fieldwork experience in a commercial landscape contracting operation. Internships can be customized to individual needs and interests, and field experience may include some exposure to field crews and production operations. The Maintenance Customer Service Specialist Intern will maintain a positive image for Acres in the field and in the industry.

Responsibilities:
&bull; Interns report directly to an account representative/intern mentor, but may do work for multiple sales representatives and managers within the maintenance sales department. Tasks may change on a daily basis, but interns will have the opportunity to perform horticultural, business-related, and customer service work regularly, expecting about 30% corporate/office based task and about 70% field and customer service tasks.
&bull; Generally internships are conducted between approximately May 15th and August 15th, but can be arranged at other times to accommodate school and/or student's schedules. This is a full-time work experience and hours will vary depending upon work demands. Interns are paid weekly at the rate of $9.00 - $10.00 per hour. Overtime is paid at the rate of time-and-a-half as applicable, with a general 40-hour workweek.
&bull; We make a solid commitment to provide a meaningful internship experience. It is necessary for the intern to make the same commitment in order for the experience to be successful.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
&bull; Focus on interactive customer contact at sales representatives' direction and discretion.
&bull; Inspections including visiting sites to check production, property walks with account representatives, marking areas for attention per work orders and/or account reps, tree counts, measuring for mulch, soil, sod, etc.
&bull; Opportunity to shadow account representatives, customer service specialists and managers executing key functions like attending board meetings to address homeowners' concerns about the property and landscape maintenance issues and review proposals for approval to implement.
&bull; Opportunity for estimating and bidding, design work, quality control, and proposal work.
&bull; Assist and support where needed in the sales department.
&bull; Attend miscellaneous functions: facility meetings, department meetings, safety committee meetings, tailgate safety trainings, various trainings that might be scheduled while they're here such as defensive driving, monthly educational field trips, scheduled intern social events

Qualifications:
REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, &amp; ABILITIES:
&bull; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, an outgoing sales personality, and great people skills. Bilingual English/Spanish welcomed.
&bull; Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail, including flexibility, desire and responsibility to follow through in a timely manner and complete projects, and adaptability to changing business needs and working conditions. Also, the ability to effectively initiate, pursue, and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
&bull; Great work ethic.
&bull; The ability to effectively do a variety of work in a fast paced environment with a team of diversified co-workers.
PREREQUISITES
&bull; College education/certification in the areas of horticulture, plant and soil science, landscape architecture/design/and/or management, forestry, business administration, or related fields. Plant ID skills, knowledge, or exposure is valuable.
&bull; A valid drivers license and good mvr.
&bull; Capability to drive to job sites and conduct tours and visual inspections of landscapes, which include areas yet to be graded, seeded or sodded; areas with varying turf heights and textures; all sizes and shapes of shrubbery, bushes, flower beds, etc..
