Position Summary:
Lead the Enterprise sales team to drive sales activities across the entire AboveNet services portfolio in the Pacific Region. The successful candidate will develop and coach this hunting team by applying strategic/consultative selling experience and by demonstrating proven techniques to prospect, propose and close new business. This candidate will also use professional communications skills to articulate the AboveNet value proposition in the context of key networking concepts and business ROI concepts. The successful candidate will have full revenue responsibility for assigned accounts and associated sales team as well as full responsibility for development and implementation of strategic and tactical account plans within their territory. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in driving the initiation and close of sales contracts, development and maintenance of accurate sales forecasts, managing sales funnels, and providing strategic and financial leadership for their portfolio of accounts in assigned territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for hiring and overseeing sales personnel in the Pacific Region, and must be willing to travel. The efforts of the Sales Manager are to achieve quota while maintaining a team aligned with company goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
.Achieve and exceed company assigned new meetings, customer acquisition, and in turn, revenue and financial goals for the Growth Enterprise Segment
.Develop and maintain a sales pipeline sufficient to meet and exceed assigned financial goals and quota,
.Coach, train, manage and motivate sales personnel;
.Performance reviews and development of assigned sales personnel;
.Recruit and staff sales personnel to achieve results and embrace diversity;
.Territory planning, sales analysis, budgeting and administration;
.Product promotion planning, sales analysis, budgeting and administration;
.Business case planning, sales analysis, budgeting and administration;
.Organize, plan and conduct regular territory sales meetings with sales personnel and sales support personnel;
.Prepare for and participate in various sales management and executive management meetings;
.Lead cross-departmental and cross-functional teaming initiatives to improve sales process and improve customer satisfaction;
.Executive relationship building both internally and externally;
.Evaluating deal profitability using financial controls and financial analysis tools provided by the company;
.Negotiate terms and conditions for custom network solutions;
.Resolve sales compensation disputes firmly, equitably and economically;
.Successfully resolve customer satisfaction issues within corporate financial controls;

Position Summary:
Engineer, implement, and operate AboveNet's global IP network. Study traffic utilization and make routing adjustments to optimize traffic flow. Resolve trouble tickets escalated by the IP Operations groups. Coordinate closely with IP Infrastructure on design and implementation of hardware associated with new sites, backbone connections and peering capacity.
Analyze network problems, requirements, and operation; make written and oral recommendations on network changes and expansion, including routing policy, network design, customer policies, new products, and equipment selection.

. Network Engineering and Routing;
. Develop and publish standards for network configuration, including routing design, traffic engineering, product configuration standards, peering policies, and guidelines for maintenance activities;
. Generate product and training documentation for new technologies (e.g., MPLS-based VPNs) for use by Engineering and Operations;
. Work with internal groups to engineer solutions for non-productized customer solutions based on specific requirements.
. Provide standard configurations for ISIS, BGP, and MPLS to optimize traffic distribution;
. Work with other internal groups to design, develop, and deploy new product offerings;
. Assist IP Architecture with the research new technologies and equipment by providing test results from the IP Engineering POC lab.
.  Manage peering connections with other networks. Negotiate with peers as to locations and speed of interconnections. Turn up new links to peer networks or Internet exchange points;
. Work with IP Infrastructure and Provisioning groups to ensure that necessary equipment and capacity are ordered and installed in time to meet demand;
. Troubleshooting and support for problems escalated by IP Operations;
. Work with vendors of IP backbone equipment to track problems, test new code releases, and guide new feature and product development;
. Perform post-mortems on network incidents and issues, and make written recommendations for technical and policy improvements.
. Perform regression and performance testing of new code images and new hardware from IP router vendors. Certify software for deployment in the production IP backbone. Assist the IP Operations group with any upgrade issues IP Engineers are periodically required to be on-call to assist with network issues escalated by the IP Operations group;

. Throughout execution, collect information on status of the deliverables, completed/ delayed activities, and costs. Analyze effectiveness of communications plan, and ensure that new risks are effectively identified, prioritized & responded;
. Control factors that create changes, evaluate proposed changes, and effectively manage approved changes through a change control process;
. Conduct status reporting and project performance measurement and enhance project performance by providing objective feedback to team members on performance and suggesting and/or taking appropriate corrective actions;
. Formally establish project closure by conducting lessons learned session, handing off relevant project performance information and the produced product to project sponsor and obtaining final acceptance;
. Develop and maintain effective working relationship with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients;
. Utilize problem solving skills, business skills, solid verbal and written communication skills, excellent relationship building skills, as well as strong leadership and team management skills;

Requirements:
. Bachelors degree or higher;
. Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification;
. 5+ years of experience managing technology supported/enabled projects of moderate to high in complexity and size;
. Proven track record of taking ownership of projects through successful completion;
. Strong business acumen and ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
. Proficiency in Project Management Software is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is desirablel;
. Previous experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments;
. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (preferably utilizing enterprise-level project management technologies);
. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
. Strong organizational and time management skills;
. Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
. Knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure, application development frameworks, configuration and support of technology solutions is required;
. Experience managing integrated business solutions (e.g. ERP, CRM, and Order-to-Cash) is highly desirable;
. Familiarity with Telecommunications industry is significant plus.

Position Summary:
The Carrier National Account Manager (CNAM) is responsible for prospecting and selling AboveNet's products & services to Carriers throughout the major US markets. The CNAM is a self-starter with Carrier sales experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Carrier vertical including but not limited to regional, national, international, and wireless carriers. The CNAM must consistently demonstrate top sales performance with the ability to perform the following skills: prospecting, establishing and maintaining relationships at the C level, forecasting, funnel management, review and understanding of contracts, and closing business. In addition, the CNAM must have technical knowledge of IP Transit, Fiber Optic Infrastructure, Long Haul, Metro Ethernet, SONET, VPN services, and wavelengths.
Responsibilities:
.Meeting quota on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;
.Prospecting new accounts;
.Establishing & maintaining good customer/prospect relationships;
.Forecasting accurately;
.Managing time effectively;
.Maintaining a funnel three times the required monthly quota;
.Maintaining an understanding of AboveNet existing products, how they are delivered and the limitations of the electronics used to deliver them;
.Embracing new products and developing an effective strategy to sell them;
.Inputting and maintaining account information in customer / prospect tracking system
.Developing a strategy for deck of assigned accounts, reviewing progress on a monthly basis, and adjusting strategy accordingly based on effectiveness, work load, and size of funnel;
.Focusing on managed network solutions that generate positive NPV revenue;
.Possessing a positive attitude & contributing / supporting other team members to ensure success as a team;
.Developing and maintaining good working relationships with various internal departments, including but not limited to legal, operations, solutions, billing, business analysis, engineering, and fiber design;
.Preparing professional presentations;
.The individual must comply with departmental and corporate internal controls and all internal controls processes;
.The individual must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity;
.Miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as may be requested or required by management.
Requirements:
.Bachelor's degree;
.Minimum of 10 years experience selling within the Carrier Market;
.Exceptional strategic planning, account management and contract negotiation skills required;
.Experience in consultative sales techniques and account planning (including account profiling, account positioning strategy, customer needs analysis, sales opportunity development, service/process improvement planning, and long range account management strategies);
.Strong technical background;
.Requires excellent verbal & written communication skills;
.Ability to travel;
.Basic computer knowledge: MS Office, Visio, MapPoint (MS Streets & Trips), CRM tools, and Adobe;
.A clear track record of consistently exceeding sales and revenue goals;
.Viewed as a trusted advisor by their customers;
.Experience as being a strategic member of a sales team who contributes significantly to the growth and development of the business;
.High energy level and demonstrated drive to succeed;
.Ability to thrive in a monthly sales quota driven environment.
