Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
The Clinical Consultant supports the ABIOMED?s healthcare solution effort in an assigned territory by promoting the understanding and use of all ABIOMED products at medical institutions with surgical and cardio-vascular heart programs. The role will also be responsible for supporting our breakthrough technologies like Impella in the Cath Lab.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Patient Support: Improve patient outcomes through education and medical staff interaction.
Visit all institutions where patients have been equipped with ABIOMED circulatory assist
devices, collect patient data, document trip results, and communicate activities with other
team members and sales counterpart.
2. Education/Clinical Demos: Arrange or assist in coordinating on site clinical demos to
educate all levels of the medical staff.
3. Account Training: Manage customer education for new accounts and existing accounts.
Coordinate activities with sales counterpart and document results of each trip.
4. On Call: Maintain availability and manage calls (24 x 7) as indicated by the rotation schedule.
Approximately one week out of every five weeks. Visit customer sites within and outside
assigned territory as required. Coordinate with Clinical Manager.

Skills/Requirements
Job Qualifications:
1. Bachelors degree in a health care discipline (RN or Perfusionist preferred).
2. 5 years of critical care experience related to the cardiac surgery patient.
population, preferably to include familiarity with Ventricular Assist Devices.
3. Experience working in a commercial setting is REQUIRED.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Fluency with public speaking and platform training.
6. Highly developed organizational skills.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

* Resolves routine legal issues under the direction of ABIOMED&rsquo;s General Counsel.
* Interact with outside counsel and auditors on routine matters.
* Prepare and negotiate routine documents and agreements.
* Prepare and file routine Securities Law reports.
* Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, etc.
* Review patent applications; prepare documents for filing and processing.
* Work with legal, product development, and marketing teams to ensure that patents and trademarks files are kept in compliance with US Patent andTrademarkOffice and ABIOMED internal standards.
* Interact with ClinicalResearchTeam to support on-going clinical trials.
* Perform legal review and sign off for controlled documents.
* Track and archive corporate documents.
* Evolve the filings systems and databases necessary to manage the IP portfolio and corporate documents.
* Organize and maintain corporate record books.

Skills/Requirements
* 
Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience.
* Paralegal certification
* 2 - 5 years of experience working as a paralegal.
* Familiar with the health care industry&rsquo;s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Job Description
ABIOMED is seeking a Program Manager for our Impella Program to manage multi-disciplinary teams in the design, development, and commercialization of single use medical implants and/or instrumentation while successfully meeting technical, schedule, quality and budget targets.
The ideal candidate will have worked with class III implantable devices, have strong design and materials skills, have programs that included pre-clinical and clinical trials and have demonstrated experience with design control spanning product definition, specification, design, verification, validation, and quality and manufacturing.
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
* Leadership/Planning:
- Participate in the creation of Program Proposals by defining project scope, schedule, risk assessments and budgets.
- Work closely with senior management to establish program milestones.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate efforts, identify risks and focus priorities to achieve program milestones.
- Develop and maintain annual budgets, program priorities and development goals.
- Communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively, and frequently (oral and/or written) within program team and throughout the company.
- Present weekly program progress updates.
* Management/Execution:
- Manage the staff and development efforts from the prototype phase and thru commercial release.
- Apply program management techniques to ensure technical, financial and schedule success.
- Manage coordination efforts with manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory and other internal organizations.
- Prioritize task importance and maintain the project teams focus on critical issues.
* Technical Leadership:
- Possess a strong functional understanding of all aspects pertaining to the design, development and commercialization of disposable products.
- Strong working knowledge of FDA's QSR and practical application through, design control SOP's, verification and validation testing.
* Department Contribution:
- Suggest, contribute and/or champion initiatives to improve the execution of product development processes

Skills/Requirements
General Requirements:
* BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or Plastics; advanced degree a plus) with 10 years practical engineering experience, 5 years successful program management experience; medical device industry a plus.
* Previous experience is managing programs with clinical trials required.
* Project Management Certificate a plus.
* Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma training a plus.
* Position requires 25% travel ? Most travel in EU
