Overview:
Responsible for all media activities on account or group of accounts; brings media innovation and proactive thinking to clients; supervises others; is responsible and accountable to clients.

Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for strategic design of media plans and implementation of media on the accounts assigned.
2. Maintains overall control of work flow and assigned subordinate responsibilities within the group-- oversees the progress of all projects.
3. Brings innovative, proactive thinking to all accounts.
4. Responsible for strategic analysis of plans to determine impact on sales.
5. Provides assistance when necessary to assure timely completion of projects.
6. Maintains quality control of all group projects and ensures that projects are produced completely, correctly and with a maximum of manpower efficiency.
7. Intercedes as much as possible to encourage individual subordinate initiative and to observe their personal abilities and growth.
8. Stimulate subordinate productivity and growth by allocation of assignments which combine to make productive and effective use of each person's skills, as well as motivating their interests and challenging their minds.
9. Encourage subordinates through evaluation of media proposals and alternative media opportunities, and by encouraging direct contact with account groups, creative and clients.
10. Assist Media Director in providing formal training of all subordinates.
11. Prepare and execute all special department assignments requested by management.
12. Presents plans to middle levels in client organizations.
13. Works with Account management and Creative Departments to be sure all necessary information, marketing and advertising direction are acquired which could influence Media Planning.
14. Supervises the work of Media Supervisors and Sr. Planners and is responsible for their training and professional development.
15. Maintains good working relationships with all media and is the key negotiator representing the client's interest in sensitive situations when any arise.
16. Assists Media Director in new business development.
Primary Skills and Abilities:
&middot; Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
&middot; Knowledgeable about the analysis of media research and computer systems.
&middot; Great presentation skills.
&middot; Ability to lead others to produce great work.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
&middot; 8+ years of progressive management and planning experience.
&middot; BA/BS in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications.
